Qatar will host the men’s Finalissima 2026 as European champions Spain face South American champions Argentina at Lusail Stadium on 27 March 2026. The highly anticipated clash will bring together the reigning continental titleholders from UEFA and CONMEBOL in one of international football’s most prestigious intercontinental fixtures.

The match will mark a symbolic return for Argentina to Lusail Stadium, the venue where they lifted the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, ending a 36-year wait by defeating France in a dramatic final. The iconic stadium is once again set to welcome a global audience for another landmark football event.

The decision to stage the Finalissima 2026 in Qatar follows a series of major football tournaments successfully delivered by the Local Organising Committee. These include the first-ever 48-team FIFA U-17 World Cup™, which featured 104 matches at a single venue, along with the AGCFF U-17 Gulf Cup.

Qatar’s packed football calendar also includes hosting the U23 Gulf Cup Qatar 2025 and staging the final three matches of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025™ during the rest days of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™, which concludes on 18 December.
