ICC Confirms Doha as Venue for 2026 Board Meetings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has selected Doha, Qatar, as the host city for its upcoming Board and Committee meetings, scheduled from 25 to 27 March 2026.

Senior ICC officials, including Board Directors, Chief Executives and committee members, will gather in Doha to discuss important issues related to the development and future direction of international cricket.

The choice of Doha reflects the ICC’s increasing focus on cricket’s growth in Qatar. In recent years, the sport has made strong progress in the country through cooperation between the ICC, the Qatar Cricket Association and national sports authorities.

Cricket participation in Qatar has grown significantly since 2020, particularly among school students. The inclusion of cricket in school-level programmes has helped introduce the game to a new generation of players. ICC initiatives such as the Criiio Cricket Festivals have also played a key role in expanding the sport’s reach, with many young participants playing cricket for the first time.

The ICC believes Qatar’s progress shows how investment at the grassroots level can help cricket grow in new regions. Hosting these meetings further strengthens Qatar’s position within the international cricket community and deepens ties with global cricket leaders.
