Kathmandu—Nepal’s Olympian Deepak Bista has been elected as the Asia representative to the Executive Committee of the World Olympian Association (WOA) during its online General Assembly.
The assembly also elected Pernilla Wiberg of Sweden, former alpine skier and two-time Olympic champion, as president.
The election saw participation from 155 representatives worldwide. This is the first time a Nepalese athlete has been elected to the WOA Executive Committee.
Bista is a former taekwondo athlete and president of the Nepal Olympian Association.
